May peace be the river

May peace be the river

in the desert of your heart

reminding you in anxiousness

your soul has not been torn apart.

Through the wild of a barren land

and all you could not understand,

it did not void your invitation

for you to embrace the day at hand.

For this life is still worth living

despite all you do not know

there is peace to be found out here.

there is room for you to grow.

– Morgan Harper Nichols

Perhaps, even here, I am growing.

Perhaps, even here, I am growing. When the days are long and I do not feel as strong and when the hours go by slower than they ever have before, and sun is shining and I am lost indoors, perhaps even here, I am growing...learning to be at peace in what does not make sense to me. Perhaps, even here I am growing. So I will inhale and exhale. It is well, it is well, every day is a part of the story I will tell. I am free to breathe here, free to be here, free to be at peace when nothing makes sense here, because perhaps...even here, I am growing. Perhaps, even here, I am growing. — Morgan Harper Nichols

to breathe ever-so slowly and gently

I cannot tell you how

these next few hours will go,

but I can tell you,

there is peace

to be found

within them.

I can tell you

you are free

to breathe ever-so slowly and gently,

even in the endless rush of things,

you are allowed to be mindful

of what each new moment brings.

There are a lot of things to contemplate here,

and there are many things for you to take in,

but you are always free

to come back

right to

the present moment

breathing ever-so slowly and gently,

over and over

again.

– Morgan Harper Nichols

How beautifully you are learning to come alive in this space,

How beautifully

you are learning

to come alive

in this space,

even without knowing

how certain things

will fall place.

Even while you are wondering

what tomorrow has in store,

you have learned

to see the lessons

in opening and closing doors,

for in all of this you have learned

what it means to be courageous

is not about arriving somewhere,

but about the journey

you have been invited to.

And through all that you have been through

May you know today is calling you

to step forward into the Light,

with all the strength

you have gathered.

For even when you do not feel

as strong as you once

thought you would be,

you are still being prepared

for what is beyond what you see.

So even here, even in now,

in the wild of your uncertainty,

you are free to believe that all of this

is a part of a grace-filled story.

This is your life.

This is your journey.

But it is not a lonely path.

It is filled with Light and grace,

and the kind of hope that last.

Even on the most uphill and winding bend

where you are worried and wondering

if you will soon reach your end,

your eyes may be tired,

and your feet all-too heavy,

but all by grace,

even here,

your soul will be steady,

and moment into moment,

there will be strength to carry on.

So carry on with all you have,

even though you do not know tomorrow yet.

For today you are only being strengthened

for tomorrow’s greater depths.

And it it is okay if there are times

where you do not feel as strong,

and it is not strange to sit with thoughts

of where and if you will belong,

for even there, in that place,

Light is guiding you all along.

And no matter what you find

in the days or years to come,

as long as there are mornings,

there will be a faithfully rising sun,

reminding you it is okay

to pause and take things in,

finding an ever-growing strength

to wake up and start again.
