When you start to feel like things are taking longer than they should

When you start to feel like things are taking longer than they should, remember the mountains that you already climbed that you never thought you could. Remember the miles you traveled when you were weary every step. Remember how you were able to gather strength that reminded you that you were not finished yet. Remember how you kept on believing when you could have given up. Remember that beautiful things take time. And grace will be enough. — MHN

your progress has not been overlooked

You have already made it through so many things and even though you still have a long way to go, your progress has not been overlooked. I know sometimes it seems that people are looking straight through you, but please know that even here, you are seen. Your light still shines. You may feel it grows dim at times, but even in the shadows you will grow. May today be the day you carry on knowing that no matter how hard this gets, you are still right where you need to be. And though you cannot see how it unfolds just yet, in time you will make it there. — MHN

You do not have to wait until you get to the other side to exhale.

You do not have to wait until you get to the other side to exhale. You do not have to wait until you finally see how it all works out in order to loosen your shoulders and breathe. You are allowed to breathe deep in the deepest part of the valley. You are allowed to stop and catch your breath even when you have been told to keep running. Making it to the other side can make a difference in your life, but it is the simple, yet miraculous act of breathing that keeps you alive. It is breathing that keeps you on course, even when you must go at a slower place. So loosen your shoulders. Look up. May you never deprive your body of the exhale. You need it. You need to breathe. You need to know that you are worthy of peace, right here in the in-betweens. — Morgan Harper Nichols

Just in case no one has told you lately, it’s okay if you don’t have it all figured out.

Just in case no one has told you lately, it’s okay if you don’t have it all figured out. It’s okay if you are still learning how to breathe while making it through the wilderness of things.

I’m not sure what things you have been told lately or what pressure you have been made to feel, but above all of that, there is room for you to still find peace in knowing: it’s okay it’s if you’re not where you thought you would be right now. It’s okay if you’re still figuring things out when everyone else already seems to have their plans in place. The reason why this is okay is because no matter how far productivity takes you, it does not equal joy and fulfillment in life.

There’s nothing wrong with getting things done, but it’s not the way to measure your growth in life. Instead, take a look at your inner life. Take a look at the ways you have grown in patience. Notice the ways you have learned to be gentle and extend grace...even when it seemed impossible. Remember the time you did something kind and didn’t take the credit? Remember the season where you made a conscious decision to begin the journey of letting something go? No matter what things you don’t have figured out, it’s those inner things that make all of the difference, no matter what lies ahead.

Keep giving your all and making the most of everyday, but don’t think less of yourself when you have to be still and wait. It’s okay to not have it all figured out, and to still be growing in wisdom and in grace at the same time.

when others set their sails, you can start to set yours too.

When the possibilities of the future are as vast as the sea and you are in endless waves of what might of never be, by grace, you will be strengthened, and you will have all that you need. Even when the mind is heavy, the soul will be free.

So may you always cling to peace, ever-trusting in this truth: when others set their sails, you can start to set yours too. And though it will take some time to learn the ropes of what to do, there is no need to fear the sea when Light is guiding you.
