3 - For the young woman who is taking care of her family

day by day,
through and through
mustard seed faith,
even in the little things,
you will be okay.
for when all of this
is all too much,
it is never too much
for Light to step in,
strengthening your soul
again and again.
-Morgan Harper Nichols

Dear R, To be so young, the weight of so many things are on your shoulders now. The people around you are leaning on you, and you are having to be so strong and give more of yourself than what any one person can give. I am sure you must be feeling exhausted right now. For you, I pray you are able to do 2 things:

1 Search for any time at all to rest. It might not be easy to find, but maybe it will be a few moments in the morning, or maybe a few moments in the evening or somewhere in between; wherever you can go and whatever you can do to catch your breath and let your heart fall in sync to the rhythm of grace again. Because when all of this is all too much, it is never too much for Light to step in. It is ever too late or early to look over to the window and take a deep breath as you watch daylight or starlight fill the sky. Because it will be here, in these little things, you‘ll find the strength and faith to keep going.

2 Take a deep breath, and see that the love you are giving to these people in your life can have an eternal impact. Even though the reason you are doing so much comes unfortunate of circumstances, and even though you have been underappreciated and taken for granted, you have also been an example of the Light and the Living Water that finds them in the valley, and that is a beautiful thing that will impact them forever.

It is far too unfair that all of this is on your shoulders but I do hope you are able to see the Light that steps in and fills up the room when you were certain you were the only one. I do hope that things get better, and all the pieces of your story start to come together, day by day, through mustard seed size faith, even in the little things, you will be okay. I’ve never been where you are, and I cannot imagine the pain, but I hope things get better. I hope you are able to see brighter days, and I hope these words I wrote for you can encourage you in some way.
